After the Cubs 5-1 win over the Indians in Game 2 of the World Series in Cleveland last night we got a great story going with a matchup for the ages tied at one game apiece headed into tomorrow night’s historic Game 3 at Wrigley Field in Chicago. As I sit here writing this blog post from my Chicago hotel room I am thrilled to be out of the cold weather from last night’s game in Cleveland and tucked away safely in my nice room that I was able to check into at 10am this morning (thanks Marriott!).

I could go on and on about how fabulous, short and easy today’s travel day was between these two nearby cities, but I need to talk a little about shooting last niht’s game. The game itself was a snoozefest that took 4 hours to play in freezing-ass-cold conditions. I had a blast being there and was thrilled to see the Cubs win to tie up the Series- but there just weren’t many pictures out there. In fact, my favorite picture of the night occurred two hours before the first pitch when I shot Cubs star slugger Kris Bryant in the hallway walking back to the clubhouse with his bat in his colorful outfit after hitting in the indoor batting cage. Because of the bad weather the tarp was on the field so there wasn’t anything to shoot outside. I decided to hang out and try to grab a few little moments of guys going to and from the cage. The stuff I got in the tunnel made me really happy because it’s not everyday you get a chance to see these guys behind the scenes at a big event like this.

By the time the game ended the rain was starting to spit on us and shortly thereafter became a huge downpour that we walked through during our two block stroll back to our nearby hotel. We were so lucky to stay dry during the game!

So after all of that- here are a few of my favorite pictures from Game 2. I hope to have a better set after Game 3.
