I had so much fun shooting Game 1 of the 2016 World Series between the Chicago Cubs and Cleveland Indians at Progressive Field in Cleveland last night I couldn’t fall asleep until around 4am. Of course everyone knows what a historical matchup this is between two long-suffering fan bases, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to be here covering my 17th Series in a row for Major League Baseball Photos. I have never been to Cleveland before and after a few days I gotta say I love it! It sure helps that the awesome hotel we are staying at is a short two block walk from the ballpark- man is that convenient!
Working at the Indians ballpark has been a joy so far. I shot from outside third base last night and my spot was fabulous. The club supplied terrific stools for us to sit on, allowing us to have a clean, low angle. You have no idea how rare it is for teams to supply us with something to sit on- thanks Indians! The Indians played great last night and pitched their asses off in beating the Cubs 6-0. Tonight I am rooting for the Cubs because I want this series to go as long as possible and I want all the games to be meaningful when we get to Wrigley Field for what is sure to be a madhouse on Friday.
Below is a selection of a few of my favorite pictures from last night. There really wasn’t much happening out there action wise, but in a World Series you are always looking for pictures that tell the story about who wins and loses. Enjoy this set of images that does not include one frame of a guy swinging a bat or throwing a ball.

That’s it for today. I am pretty jacked up for tonight’s game and really hope we get some action out there. I also hope the rain stays away! Rain is such a bummer- but it’s always part of October baseball. Thanks for looking!
