Damn. That was one ugly baseball game if you are a San Francisco Giants season ticket holder like myself. It was especially bad because not only did the Royals kick the Giants ass 10-0 last night in Game 6 of the World Series at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, but they kicked their ass so early! The game was over in the second inning! Having to shoot seven innings of garbage time with my team losing a World Series game by double digits aint no fun, especially when their aint no pictures happening out there on the field.

Of course before the game there was the anticipation of a possible champagne celebration in the Giants clubhouse. I was ready! I was also nervous. I know how good this Royals ballclub is, especially here at home. I was hoping that Giants starter Jake Peavy could come up with one more brilliant start, but that was not gonna happen. It was over so fast i wanted a do over! It was 7-0 Royals in the 2nd inning and it was O-V-E-R.

The highlight of last night’s game was shooting from outside third base next to my good friend and great Sports Illustrated staffer Robert Beck. By the third inning Beck was fully involved with an ongoing text message trying to corral his family together for a trip to Disneyland and California Adventure next week. I think he pulled it off!

This was a game that could not end soon enough, and now we have a Game 7 tonight. What will happen after the 7:07pm first pitch? Who knows. If I was a Royals fan I would feel really good about my team. I hope good things happen and I hope I make a few good pictures. The only thing I can say for sure is that after a fun seven game series our entire crew from MLB Photos seems to be sick, myself included. I look forward to flying home tomorrow and doing nothing for many, many days. With the exception of taking BART to San Francisco for a parade on Halloween!
