The Washington Nationals signed former Giants relief pitcher Tyler Walker to a one year contract this afternoon according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports. The 33-year-old Walker posted a 3.06 ERA in 35.3 innings for the Phillies last year. Walker gave the Giants several good years, going 5-1 in 2004 and saving 23 games for them in 2005 while compiling a 6-4 record.

The San Francisco native was always a fan-favorite at AT&T Park- as long as he was pitching good! I hope he makes the club in spring training and has a nice year in Washington. He always seemed like a good guy. I am glad he is getting another chance to pitch in the big leagues.
