As I rush to write this blog on Sunday morning so I can make a lunch meeting at Slows BBQ here in Detroit I am still stunned about the Giants. By wining last night’s Game 3 of the World Series over the Tigers 2-0 they have a chance for a four game sweep tonight and their second title in three years.

Last night’s game started for our crew at MLB Photos about six hours before the first pitch as we had many duties to perform at the ballpark- each of us with our own list of tasks to complete. After spending some time outside the park shooting pretty exteriors of the stadium I was back inside during batting practice to shoot some details of equipment in the dugout and anything else that might be going on- like Giants skipper Bruce Bochy joking with a small group of writers (see above).

Next I went into the interview room to shoot the Hank Aaron Award press conference about an hour before the first pitch. The cool thing about this award last night was that Giants catcher Buster Posey received the National League honor and was on hand in full uniform to pose for pictures with Commissioner Bud Selig and Hank Aaron (see above).

Once the game got rolling I had a great spot outside first base to shoot from and Giants starter Ryan Vogelsong was doing what he has been doing best lately- keeping his opponents off the scoreboard.

After completing five gutty innings Vogey turned the ball over to the Giants secret weapon: relief pitcher Tim Lincecum. All Timmy did was mow down the Tigers for three hitless innings as the Giants clung to a 2-0 lead.

After Sergio Romo breezed through the 9th inning the Giants were miraculously up three games in the World Series, and that means I have to pack my rain gear tonight for a possible champagne celebration! This has been such an improbably postseason run by the Giants. They have to win one more game to make it a successful one. The odds are in their favor- but the Tigers will not make it easy.
